I'll most likely be getting AppleCare before my 1 year ends. It never hurts to purchase it just in case. I paid $1700 for my MBP and I don't want to spend that kind of money again just in case...

The most common issue I've heard of is the screen: dead pixels, dust behind screen, etc. Within the 14 days, Apple replaces them. Other than that, I don't think I've heard any other issues.

I've had 2 MBP's, both Matte. Much better. No glare. Maybe a little bit harder to clean, but well worth it.
