It doesnt bother me. My previos phones never reminded me of I had a missed call/text message by using an LED. I always had to push a button or open them to see if it was trying to tell me something.

I have the same problem with my MBP. There seems to be no particular reason for it. My mom runs 10.4.x on her MB and has the same problem as I do. You can try resetting the power management chip.

I found it much easier to just print whatever on transparencies. When you print it out, you are not just limited to a color. You can put whatever design you want in it, even pictures.
