I may be mistaken, but I was led to believe if one was going to keep any old PPC Mac for occasional use, that they should be kept plugged into AC power, but not powered up, to keep it's PRAM battery...

But I do know of some Mac users who used to use SheepShaver not that long ago it seems, and it may still work...

Well, I guess one could try using a different faster keyboard and the Matias ones come to mind, of maybe try your Mac's dictation rather than typing. But you might want to change the typing shortcuts...
