TextEdit can produce .txt files. Just go to Format > Make Plain Text and make sure to save it with an extension.

Wine question

OK, I'm running Wine on my Mac. The only Windows program I use with Wine is the Wine Command Prompt. I get to it by selecting the menu item.

To anyone running 10.5.8, can you paste the file located at /private/etc/ttys? The console is completely screwed up because the ttys is corrupted.

Question regarding >console mode

I heard you can enter console mode by typing ">console" at the normal login window. I'm going to try this. But before I do... I can go back to normal by restarting my Mac, right?

How to make menu bar transparent?

I made my menu bar solid white a long time ago, and I can't remember how to put it back to the way it was. I know I changed something in System Preferences. I want my menu bar transparent again. Help?
