When I did mine, I just disconnected the battery (easy to do, once you've got the back off).

Don't know if it is essential, but I did it to play safe.

It was a far easier job than I imagined...

I've had problems in the past, but it's usually been because another application was hogging the camera. (eg Final Cut, etc)

I always use wi-fi, never bluetooth - and go through the Personal Hotspot.

Disadvantages are that I have to reconnect everytime...
