If you powder coat the shell and find that it doesn't fit together again properly you might be screwed since the alloy is too thin to sandblast.

While I'm sure any LCD would look great on my desk rather than my huge CRT , I'd still like to make the best decision since I don't plan on buying a new LCD for a while....
