Yes, they should. Just make sure that you have the "Copy items to iPhoto Library"...

Not all DVD players will recognise home made dvds, so that maybe your problem.. There's obviously not a problem with the dvd, as it plays in the Panasonic player.

You need to use Disk Utility to make a Disc(New) Image of the dvd, and then use Disk Utility to burn a new dvd using that image.
