I've noticed as well you can add Keychain to the bar at the top and there is a “Lock Screen” function. Does this automatically lock the keychain and remove all references from memory?

On my mid 2010 iMac it functions as expected.

You're right about the O2 staff. The first time I tried getting the iPhone the person from O2 couldn't even work out how to upgrade my account.
