BTW I recently put a 500GB SSD in my older 15" mac pro and the difference is amazing. I look after 1,000 or so pictures a month with Photoshop and the difference is night and day.

My other half uses a first generation 2008...

My other half uses a first generation 2008 Macbook Air with a spinning hard drive. SSDs were a LOT more expensive in those days. SSDs became standard in 2010.
