A program for scanning multiple photos at once and having them automatically split?

I have tons of photos to scan. I want to scan multiple photos at once and have them automatically divided into different photos by the program.

Do any scanning programs do that?

Is there anything I can use to test it to see if it is sick? Right now they all work fine. But I do wonder if some program can let me know if a drive isnt in perfect health.

What programs do you recommend for checking the health of an external HD?

I have some old external hard drives. Some are 4, 5 years old. They still work fine. That said, I'd love to know if there was some program which let me check the internals so I know if it's dying....

Ah. I wasn't clear. I have a MBP with a 500GB hard drive. But I'm thinking about the externals I'll put in my Thunderbay. I'm not sure which ones to get. That's what I was asking about.

Long term storage: use 2tb, 3tb or 4tb internal drives?

I'm moving towards a system of having data backed up on internal drives I'll use with a OWC Thunderbay and separate external drives as well.

I'm trying to decide what size internal drives to use....

Does anyone buy damaged MBPs?

I have a 2009 17" MBP that has a power problem. You sometimes need to restart it a bunch of times to get it going and then it typically works fine. I have a new computer and want to get rid of it....

When I enter a m2v file into Toast Titanium 11 with my AIFF, it gets all messed up

I am trying to make a DVD with a m2V file I got from Compressor and an AIF file I got in exporting from FCP. I know I can get an audio file from Compressor, but I wanted a higher quality file.

Recommendation for a free program to convert MPG to MOV?

Anyone have a rec for a program that converts MPG files to MOV files? I have a bunch to use in a film and I can't preview them well in MPG form.

Sometimes the battery percentage doesn't change...

Sometimes the battery percentage doesn't change after an hour so something is wrong with the MBP. I'll try reseting the SMC. It's annoying cause I don't always work with it plugged in.

How can I lock my Ipod 2.1 so it doesn't skip songs?

I just got an ipod 2.1 When I listen to music, if I put it in my pocket, it skips around songs because it's brushing up on my clothes. How can I lock it so it stops doing that?

Any thoughts on why sometimes the battery stops updating how much is left?

Sometimes my Mac battery stops updating the time left. The icon tells me I have 69% left (or something else) and it just stays that way as I use the computer.

I'm using a refurbished computer less...
