While I agree it was probably a foolish decision, I kind of admire it too - life is short, and if you spend a lot of time on a computer it might as well be as enjoyable as possible.

Time Capsule (500Gb)
Dell Laptop (work machine)
WD 320 Gb backup drive for the Dell laptop

Maybe, but Netflix is only $16 /month with unlimited USPS and on-demand movies (granted a limited selection of on-demand, though).

I just don't want to pay $3-$4 to rent every time.
