Have you reset the PMU? If you have a volt meter handy, you can check the voltage from the 24-pin power supply connector.

Or..purchase a FW800 PCI card.

Dual-channel is the recommend option. PC2-5300 DDR2 is the correct spec and as far as I know the only spec to work.

Having matched pair RAM gives you 128-bit data path instead of 64 which basically is more lanes on the highway, thus creating better performance. I'd keep it in matched pairs if I were you, g/l!
