pdfs on ipad

We create an online edition of our weekly newspaper, and I'm trying to make the pdfs iPad-friendly. One of my subscribers is getting the pdfs, but the text is garbled. Any ideas? Here's a screen shot:

Finder won't search file server

I can search my own hard drive just fine, but when I try to search our file server for files, I get no response. This problem just started happening intermittently, now I can't get it to work at all.

Is there a way to export names and e-mail addresses from Address Book that can be opened by or imported into excel or a tab-delineated file? I exported vCards but couldn't seem to work with them in...

Can you manually eject a cd from an iMac intel core duo?

Is there a way, like with the paper clip? Don't want to stick one in there willy nilly.

I've tried all the other ways to eject, i.e., restart with eject button down.

Any help?
