They're all pretty much useless. At least AVG wont hurt your computer, maybe just slow it down a little.
If you MUST run an antivirus, we recommend ClamX...

Quickest (as far as copying speed) - remove drive and put it in a USB or Firewire enclosure.
Easiest - get yourself some USB sticks.

The problem is Gatekeeper. It wont let the system run apps which aren't 'signed'. It's a security thing.
