The CD rom I'm trying to install, the file is called 'setup.exe'. But its trying to be opened by TextEdit. What program should open a .exe file?

Thanks for the suggestions. I would much rather figure this out. Using the install disks was a last option out of frustration lol

Anything. Wether it's a zip file or running a CD...

anything that requires opening something, it used to default to Windows to open it... now it doesn't know what to use.

BAsically, long story short, Parallels messed up my settings....

Quick question:

I have the original 2 Install disks that came with my Mac. Mac OS X Install disks 1 & 2.
Will installing these wipe everything off my Mac? Pictures, files, everything?

For example, right now I'm trying to install a program from a CD, and it keeps opening it with TextEdit.......

Paralles driving me crazy

I have paralles installed on my Mac OS X

But Paralles has taken over all the default settings. Even if it's not running.
When i try to download anything, it opens in Windows instead of my Mac....
