That isn't what he needs at all. He has a Macbook Pro which does not have a mini-dvi. It has a regular DVI port.

All you need, Matt, is a regular DVI cable. Both your computer and your monitor...

That isn't entirely true about not being able to use iPhoto again. If you bought your mac new, and still have the install discs...you should be able to reinstall the iLife suite from there I believe....
