You should be looking at the factory refurbished models in the Apple store online. Same full 1 year warranty and eligibility for AppleCare as new ones. Full inspection and testing, great deals...

The old white ones got so bad in the wrist area because of defective plastic. It's been remedied by Apple on the new ones. And if it gets dirty, the Mr. Clean magic eraser does an amazing job.

You should be fine. . but you'll need to upgrade your RAM for the best experience. I would go to 2GB. You can get 2GB of RAM from newegg.com for about $90.

I've been unable to get my MacBook to provide accurate colors, even with hardware calibration. You'll need a good external display if you want to accurately edit your work and have it display true...
