80GB backup on SSD?

I have my two SSD's raid 0 and all back ups on my external and aperture masters on my external.

Not sure where this extra 80GB is from....?

In my 2011 MBP both slots are 6GB/s and I have dual SSDs set to RAID. You should be fine.

I would get another and replace the optical drive or regular HDD.

You should do a fresh install. Boot from a ML USB drive and then use disk utility and format the drive before setting...

I have dual SSDs as well and mine are set to a STRIPPED RAID set. Raid 0. They are the capacity of a single drive and the speed of two drives combined.
