Unknown language

Does anyone know what language this is? I picked it up in a bookstore but did not realize until I got home I had forgotten to ask someone there what language it was in. I don't want a translation - just would like to know the language. Thanks!

Looks like Nepali to me. It could also be some other type of south asian language.

It looks like it might be related to Indian, as in India.

It looks to me like Bangla/Bengali - ie the script used in Bangladesh, which indeed looks very like Indian.

I lived in Bangladesh for 4 years and this looks very similar to what I used to see there.

It looks like Devanāgarī script, so could be Nepalise or Indian

I can't see it.. too small... but kinda looks like a fancy hebrew font.

Didn't - it was free but the language intrigued me. I can usually narrow down a language and figure it out but this one has me baffled.

That was my first impression but doesn't Hebrew (and Arabic) run from right to left? The paragraphs are arranged from left to right. Only thing I could come up with is (guess) ancient Greek??

It's defiantly an indic script

Looks like the script underneath the platform sign at Southall - London (near me)

Which is Punjabi
