I don't know if this is considered appropriate, but I just wanted to remind everyone and ask if you would take a moment to remember those who lost their lives on this day in 1941. I'm not sure if there's a specific time to take a moment, as there is on Veteran's Day, but I suppose the time of the attack would be best.

Great post Fleurya, sometimes we don't take the time to remember that if it wasn't for all those men and women who risk there lives everyday, we wouldn't be able to do the everyday things that we take for granted. I will take a moment to remember.

Anytime is appropriate to remember those who have given their lives in the service of their country. If not for that service and sacrifice you probably would not be at your computer right now typing in English or doing many of the daily things you now do.

I too have remembered those who gave their all on this day in 1941 - Including a great uncle who went down with the USS Arizona. I've grown up in a family with quite a military history (as have others). I also had a great uncle who survived the Bataan Death March during WWII, a grandfather who landed on Omaha Beach on June 6th, 1944 with the 2nd Rangers and a father who flew a USMC F4 Phantom fighter over Vietnam in '68 and '69.

My grandfather, and father always said the real "Hero's" from WWII (Europe & Pacific Theaters) as well as Vietnam died there.

But today I say "Thank you" to the Greatest Generation for their part in saving the world.
