Circuit City tried it for a while but one of the two dropped eachother.

Best buys been selling them for about the past year at our local store...actually where i bought my MBP from cuz the apple store was another hour away. It still carries all the same warranties and is the same price.

As I understand it, Best Buys are actually setting up a mini Apple Store within the store, with employees who are specifically trained on Apple products, wearing completely different uniforms. Was that not the case?

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

They had a huge back Box with a lite Apple Logo and a flat screen showing leapord shots, and they have one table with a new IMAC, One White IMAC model and some Power Books, the only sales people were geek squad who knew really nothing except from what he memorized on the sales tag..

Honestly There is an Apple Store 4 blocks from the Bestbuy, I feel Purchasing an Apple at Best Buy is like Buying a BMW from a Ford Dealer..

It varies from store to store...the one in Ft Collins has a great selection and has pretty much everything an Apple store does except for Mac Pro's. The one down in denver...not so impressive!

Now that CompUSA has given up as much as they have (there used to be two in my area, and lines at the register at both on a regular basis; now they are BOTH closed), looks like Best Buy's seeing about getting the MacFans.

I remember loving CompUsa for MACs until Apple Store was open, CompUSA would have a specialist worrking the aisle's every once in a while... Honestly Tiger Direct store locations have hurt CompUSA alot....

Love that analogy. Even still, I wish our local Best Buy had an Apple store. The closest one in my area is easily 2 hours away - and in a heavily congested area.

For god's sake, Harrisburg is the state capital and we still can't seem to get an Apple Store. I wonder what the criteria are.

Hmm, if Best Buy is looking for "specialists" to sell Apple computers, maybe I'll go apply. I could use a part time job and I'm sure my limited knowledge about Apple products is better than anyone in the store.

I guarantee if you go apply at a Best Buy who just got Macs knowing as much about macs as you probably do, you will be heading the MAC Dept in no time... Go for it!

The CompUSA in my area still has a "store within a store" selling Apple gear. They have a certified Apple employee manning the store, and he is GOOD. Better than most folks you run into at a full fledged Apple store, with the exception of the Genius Bar staffers of course.

I hope they keep it up. This one fellow, all by himself, is a real credit to Apple, and I am sure he keeps the business up at the CompUSA "Apple sub store".
