My iPod Touch arrived just after lunch after a couple of weeks of waiting.

I'd never seen one before in the flesh; I thought they looked innovative on the adverts but . . . WOW!

It's so small but it looks just like a mini Mac OS X. And the touch technology is out of this world! I've only had it and few hours and it's already second nature to use.

Well done Apple, you've raised the bar yet again.

Even without jailbreaking it it's much more than an iPod. I was upset about the lack of a notes application but the Contacts notes hack works fine. I typed 700 words on the bus home from work.

The keyboard really is superb; it accurately corrected many mistakes and given the limited space of the keyboard I don't think they could have made it much better.

I hooked up to my home wireless network. Only Apple could make surfing on such a small screen feel so easy.

I have not even glanced at the instructions and I've figured out how to do pretty much everything I need to so usability wise it's a 10/10.

Sorry, I bet this has been posted a thousand times but I'm so impressed with it.

Grats! I am looking to get one here at some point. I'm especially excited about Apple opening it up.

I'd love to get one... but they just don't hold enough (yet!)
I have 38gb of music and it's always growing... so until they bring out like, an 80gb model... I'll have to resist.

All I have will fit on the 16 GB, but I do think it would be nice if they release one with more space.

I don't think that will happen. It's too expensive / not possible to make Flash RAM that large. They may do a 32 GB but it will cost a fair bit more.

I'm not a big music person anyway. I want to jailbreak it and make it into a PDA. I'm trying to cut it as a novelist and wanted something to write on the move. The keypad and corrective software, done the Apple way, are perfect for me.

When you're used to Apple products you don't want some ugly Blackberry device.

NAND prices are literally falling by the day. Having a 32GB version available by next summer/fall at the current 16GB price point isn't that far-fetched. Heck, Apple might even throw us a curveball and announce a 32GB version at Macworld 2008 (or at the very least a 16GB iPhone). Who knows with Apple, anything can happen.

Wait, holdon - DrQuincy did you say iPod Touch uses flash technology? Wow... I never really looked at the specs of one before because, given the storage capacity I was never really very interested. I would have thought they'd use hard drives in them though like the iPod classics...

How else do you think Apple got the thing to be 8mm?
