Heroes is great. It's like Lost, but it actually delivers, and isn't slow and boring.

She figured out that the only way to keep from being frozen was to stay in motion, and long ago converted most of her flesh into liquid. Now when she smells danger, she spills herself all over, like gasoline, and lights it. |

They're supposed to be focusing on the older Heroes this season, showing the history of the Pitrelli's, the Nakamoro's (I think that's Hiro's family's name), and the one big roller in Vegas. I forget his name, and how they were all connected and what happened to them. |

LOST is nothing more than Gilligan's Island for the 21st century. It is un-original, drawn out, and banal.
Heroes isn't exactly original, either... yet it is much more entertaining and actually has a well-written and captivating story line. __________________________________________________ Posting and YOU|Forum Community Guidelines|The Apple Product Cycle|Forum Courtesy mac: a waterproof raincoat made of rubberized fabric MAC: a data communication protocol sub-layer, also known as the Media Access Control Mac: a brand name which covers several lines of personal computers designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc.

I compared Heores to Lost in that they both have a lengthy, ongoing plot with a lot of backstory. Lost is just too slow, with too much promised and not delivered in time. I gave up before the first season ended.
Out of interest, why do people think Heroes is unoriginal? I've not seen anything with a similar concept before, but then again I rarely watch TV because most of it it sucks your brain out and makes you dumb. Or just sucks, one of the two. It's nearly the same exact concept. Ordinary people discovering strange powers and then unite to save the world Of course, in my memory, it's the only show that's ever done anything like this and been so well executed. And it is a lot more down to Earth than the main X-men story lines. There's no special school for these people, no secret organization of super heroes devoted to recruiting members to fight for the cause of good, and no giant high tech training rooms and aircraft and such to assist the "team". It's more "ordinary" and I think a lot more interesting because of it. There's good, evil and inbetween. And not all factions that appear good or evil are. What's the guy that could heal things name? He was in together with the older generation in a group that wanted to protect people with powers and such and wanted to better humanity, but it all fell apart. Now he's apparently lone wolf and looked like he was the bad guy when he wanted to help people, even though his mentality was that New York had to be destroyed to accomplish the task. |

Anyone who doesn't think X-Men was a direct and vast influence on Heroes either doesn't know much about the X-Men or doesn't know much about Heroes.
Way too many parallels. All the genetics talk and the linking of genetics and evolution to special superhuman abilities can only have derived from the X-Men unless there's something very similar to the X-Men that came out before 1964(or was it '63?). Not to mention the types of powers the characters have and the great difficulties that come with them. The super hero story with the huge ensemble cast is very X-Men. Unless something happens to completely blow our minds about the entire nature of the show, the powers, and their origins, I think the creators need to show more respect towards the creators and popularizers of their genre(having Stan the Man driving the bus was a good start). This does not take away from the hottness of this show and the depth of lust I feel for every episode. The characters and plot lines and overall style and tone are distinct and I commend the writers and directors and all the cast and crew of the show for their great work. |

Let's hope NBC puts the episodes up on its website for streaming like it did last season. It was a great way for me to catch up on missed episodes, not to mention the fact that I could watch it on my schedule.
In any event, I've set my DVR to record tonight's show
