Who's good in Math Problems??

Hey guys! I was grounded for a week (yea that sucks!) so I wasn't able to log on for a while. Here's something to challenge bored people! Try to solve this and post!

Even though she had more fish than she knew what to do with, she decided to go fishing again the next day. And she caught exactly 40% of what she caught the day before. Which was still a lot of fish.

She continued fishing every day. And every day she caught exactly 40% of what she caught the previous day.

If she continued fishing every day for twenty years, how many pounds of fish, total, would she catch? Please round to the nearest pound.

It's been more than 2 months since I went to school... and my mind's currently dumb. It might seem easy for you here.

if i had a calculaor with enough digits it could do it in a second. i believe equation to use is 31416(1.4)exponent"7300"

i think i got it

is it:
229336800 ?

i think im wrong, and i think the equation is wrong.... bah

The Evil Math Ogre has entered. Interesting question. -_^ I guess I'll have to do this one in the next day or so.

kman445, that's not the right equation, but a good try nonetheless. It's a series where each day is (0.4)^(day number) rather than 1.4^(total days).

novicew, I don't know how you came up with the number, and I don't know if it is right, but I'd guess the solution is in that range.

I just wrote a little python routine and...

would'nt it go:
31416*.40=12566.4
12566.4*.40=5026.56
5026.56*.40=2010.624 .....and so on for twenty years ?
i feel like i'm missing something
