Till now ever since my first computer in the early 80's have I never named any of my computers.

I decided to name my MacBook Pro though. I was listening to Led Zeppelin's Immigrants song, and ended up naming my machine "The Hammer of the Gods"

I named a car once, but never a computer.

How many of your Macs out there have names? And I mean INDIVIDUAL names?

Define what you mean by "naming" it. I've always changed the "My Computer" tag or its equivalent. My MBP's is Tao. All of the items on our network have names according to that theme.

I don't actually say, "Well, I need to go work on Tao a bit," though. It's my Mac.

I've never really got into naming things like that. I have a windows desktop and a Macbook, so it's just refered to as the/my Mac. My girlfriend likes to call it Maccy though, she's so sweet.

Every networked computer I've ever owned has had a name. This is primarily out of necessity, plus it's a small creative outlet. :-)

I know there was someone who had already created something like this. I didn't post on that one, so I'll post on here... I've never actually named my Mac, but it seems like a cool idea now... It's no longer just a black box in the corner, but a cool looking piece of machinery. I'll get back to you on the name! I have named my car though. Well, the previous owner named it Helga, which I cant rename her, it would be wrong.
