i've had my mac for about 6 months and i've updated severial times. i'm running low on hd space and i was wondering if there was a way or program that deleats the old applications i dont use anymore.

I use WhatSize. This program analyzes your HD and allows you to browse/delete files/folders quickly and easily off your hard drive.

you can also free up a couple gig using this:

delocalizer - will free up a couple gigs of space by removing extra language support if you don't need it (i recovered about 2.8Gb by removing all support except us and uk english and spanish).
