Let's see here, we've got:

RockNES

and

NEStopia

Both of them are free, but RockNES requires a download (and maybe some $) to unlock all of the features.

You're going to have to find the ROMs yourself given the iffy legality.

Some of the copyrights on certain games (most from the early 90's) still stand. You can't play the game unless you buy it. The hole here, is that no one can prove that you *never* bought the game. But you didn't hear that from me...

I am not sure how it is legal that if you own the actual version of the game, that you can download a rom off the internet and play it on the computer legally, but as long as you own that hard copy it some how becomes legal and that is why they are so readily available on the internet.

Acctually, no. The only way a ROM is legal is if you get the ROM FROM THE GAME YOU OWN. It doesn't matter if you own the game, it has to be YOUR copy as well.

I'd use Windows... but I like the Mac OS more.
