Whatapps free for Android? Fee for IOS?
It appears that the WHATSAPP app requires IOS users to pay yearly subscription for it. It is only free during the first year. Meanwhile, a friend, who uses Android, told me he does not have to pay a cent for it. Can someone confirm if this is true?

    It states:

Please download the latest version of WhatsApp Messenger and enjoy our service free for 1 year! During, or after free trial period you can purchase service for $0.99 USD/year.

If you already paid for the service you will not be asked to pay for it again.

Those two paragraphs contradict one another. The top one indicates a yearly subscription. Ie. $0.99 USD/YEAR. While the bottom one says that if you have paid it once, you don't have to pay it again, indicative of a one off charge.

    That is clearly not true.

And since Facebook bought the app in Feb., no one knows what the future will hold for the app.

Your friend using Android skipped the screen that told him that he has to pay for it after a year as well. Source: I use WhatsApp on my Nexus 5.

They aren't contradictory. You can pay the year fee at any time. What they are saying is that if you have already paid it you won't be charged again at the end of the free year
Not been around these parts for a while. Trying to change that . .
