Ever wonder how Shrimp&Grits with Cream Cheese Icing would taste?

Me neither . . . but I almost found out tonight.

We save bacon drippings for cooking and keep it in little containers in the fridge. Grabbed one out and started to spoon a dollop into the pan and stopped.
The texture seemed a bit odd. I sniffed, then tasted, and discovered my wife had saved some cream cheese icing from my birthday.

The Shrimp&Grits were awesome, but now I'll never know if they would have been better with icing.

I've always wanted to be smart, handsome and modest. But, I guess I'll have to be satisfied with two out of three . . .

Everything's better with Bacon . . .

EDIT: FWIW we don't do all of our cooking with bacon grease, but we do save the grease for flavoring when we have bacon. 90% of our cooking is with light Olive Oil.

Yes...I was going to say that as well...to get bacon grease...you have to be eating some bacon first (usually)!
