Neither.

First off, the General Lee looked good and as a kid watching the Dukes of Hazzard, I fell in love with the look of the car. To me it means southern pride. I am proud to be from Texas and the southern area. I love the south for a lot of reasons and it is strengthened every year I spend in Los Angeles. The pace of life and the way of life is awesome.

I went to school at some pretty diverse grade schools and learned how to communicate with people of different ethnic backgrounds. I am not racist toward anyone nor do I have feelings that dwell from historical events. If you are not nice then you are an @$$hole, not a ethinically targetted derogatory name.

Besides that, it is just a cool looking flag, disregarding any meaning which unfortunately leaves it up for controversy.

Good question. I guess it just depends how you look at it.

thanks for that explanation. i was wondering myself, being a fellow texan and living in the Deep South. The Confederate flag around here is usually the sign of a ignorant redneck. I was hoping that you werent that way for the sake of all Texans.

Go Longhorns and Gig'em Aggies!!!!!!!

There are also quite a few white Southerners who don't care for the Stars and Bars and would rather see it relegated to museums and history texts. Southern pride comes in many flavors.

Yeah, I can understand that, it is a stereotype.

For the sake of all Texans, no way in heck am I like that. If I was an ignorant redneck, my mama would have took a flyswatter to my rear.

Go Red Raiders!! We would have fun watching football together.

I appreciate the time you spent telling me how you feel about the flag. Having never lived in the South, I have no idea as to what it signifies. I honestly just wanted to ask a true Southerner what it means to them. Thanks for enlightening me.
