Wyoming House advances doomsday bill

Quote:
The bill’s sponsor, state Rep. David Miller, R-Riverton, has said he doesn’t anticipate any major crises hitting America anytime soon. But with the national debt exceeding $15 trillion and protest movements growing around the country, Miller said Wyoming — which has a comparatively good economy and sound state finances — needs to make sure it’s protected should any unexpected emergency hit the U.S.
Interesting, and not all together unreasonable in my opinion. Gotta love those Near West Plains States. They do have minds of their own.

The only "doomsday" the state of Wyoming needs to worry about is if all those nuclear missiles the US has buried underground there in silos should ever need to be used.

I'm all for planning . . . though I find it amusing the part discussing the acquisition of an Aircraft Carrier. Kind of wonder where they would put it.

And, honestly, if the biggest potential Doomsday event I am aware of happened they wouldn't have to worry about setting up a govt, there wouldn't be anyone in Wyoming to govern.
Talking about the Yelowstone super-volcano.

Of course, I know everything . . . I just can't remember it all at once.

I thought that one to be humorous as well. Then again, there's a certain wisdom behind a landlocked State being able to project a presence worldwide, and to be able to keep assets offshore in case of embargo or financial quarantine. I'm not sure what an aircraft carrier costs, but I doubt Wyoming could afford one alone. Maybe if they teamed up with Montana and the Dakotas and some of that new oil money though?
