This is off topic but why? Eclipse is relatively small and there are mirrors all over the world. Seems like overkill for Eclipse. Did he give an explanation for that?

Dont forget to use the Reputation System if someone has helped you out !!! “I have absolutely no pleasure in the stimulants in which I sometimes so madly indulge. It has not been in the pursuit of pleasure that I have periled life and reputation and reason. It has been the desperate attempt to escape from torturing memories, from a sense of insupportable loneliness and a dread of some strange impending doom ….”― Edgar Allan Poe |

Yes, actually -- all the mirrors were pretty slow when he demonstrated, so he recommended BitTorrent as a faster alternative. FWIW, I already had it on my MacBook...in fact, most of us in the class already had been using it extensively anyway...

Interesting. The mirrors have always been pretty fast for me and with my own experiences with BitTorrent, I would have figured that it would be worse.
And yes, I can imagine that many Java devs have Eclipse (or at least tried it). It seems to be as close as Java is going to get to a standard IDE for development. NetBeans is terrible. It's slow, ugly and offers little to nothing that no other editor/IDE has. Now, granted, I don't program in Java (next to Python, it looks like garbage in my opinion) so I could be way off there but I'm pushing this thread off-topic.

Boost is a common term amongst gear heads when they are talking about turbos. I drive my twin turbo car daily hence why iboostdaily. Now in regards to torrents, staff quickly responded to my thread stating no illegal talk in the forum and I can respect that.
