    What does the "i" mean?
    Hello:

    Just curious to know what the "i" means before ...imac, ipod, itunes, ilife, etc...

    When the first iMac can out it was for internet, as in internet Mac. Now I don't think it means any thing.

    It first stood for Internet, then they just added it to the consumer line.

    I'm not sure, but I just have this hunch it started out as meaning "internet" and now is used for the consumer line of macs...

    17" iMac G5- 1.8Ghz - 1GB of Ram - AND - 17" Intel Core 2 Duo iMac - 2Ghz - 1GB of Ram
    ...so, what you guys are saying is what? That the "i" originally stood for internet, and now is used just for the consumer line of macs? Thats Crazy. I read somewhere that NOW, they are used for the consumer line of macs and once stood for internet. I could be wrong though.
