After an 11 year absence I am back in a Mac. I grew up on:
1. Apple IIe
2. Mac classic
3. LC III
4. Grape iMac

Just a basic user. I meet my now wife and needed to upgrade my aging Grape iMac. She suggested going pc as that was al she knew. Well 11 years and 2 failed pc desktops and she asks "so what about a Mac" a big smile appeared across my face and said, "yup we can do that".

Now the proud owner of a 22" iMac 2.5 GHZ i5

I am all kinds of fun learning myself and teaching her all the need Mac stuff.
I am sure I will be asking all kinds of stupid questions, so stay tuned and thanks in advance for all your help.

As much as it's a cliche, there are no stupid questions - we were all new at some point. Just make sure to do a quick search for your problem first (especially if it's a basic question). Other than that, welcome aboard!

Hi all - I've just joined as I'll be heading back over to a Mac-based setup pretty soon - can't wait! I have a couple of questions about tooling up for my new business which will primarily be around choosing the right Mac-compatible database software - any idea where I need to post this sort of question?

Take a look at the descriptions for each of the forums and try your best to put your questions in the right one. If it's in the wrong place, one of us staff members will move it to a more appropriate forum (don't fret if your thread gets moved - sometimes it just fits better somewhere other than where you put it).

I expect that I will look here from time to time to solve problems, but will try to help others once I figure out how hte forum works

Hi everyone !

My name is Lily, and I'm a 16 year old girl from the Netherlands. I own a MacBook Pro 13 inch and I'm in love with it For now, I joined mac-forums just to try it out. Some troubles have occurred in the past, and often I found a good solution on this forum. Now I want to try and help others with what I know and can. Another thing, this way I can always ask a question myself if I can't find an useful answer. Seemed like a good deal to me

Howdy all of you guys and gals. I've been a member for a while and just never posted much but lately I've decided to start participating and posting some and offer help if I can. I've been a Mac lover and user since 1984 and my first real computer was a Mac Plus with a built in 9" black and white or I guess I should say a gray scale screen 2 MB of ram and later updated to 4 MB :-) with a 40 MB external SCSI drive. It even had a built in 3.5 inch floppy drive LOL. I did a lot of work with that little Mac mostly MIDI sequencing and then time code striping on track 8 on my Tascm 1/2 inch tape 8 track so that I could keep both the recorded audio and the MIDI in sync. I really learned a lot using tht little Mac.

Nowdays I have a pro/fun recording studio built around my MBP and and a couple of older Macs and a couple more PC's. Anyway if I can help anyone please feel free to ask I'll help all I can!

Hi all,

I have always owned PC's and have received a sparkly new MacBook Pro 13" with os x Lion for Christmas. I think it is a fantastic machine and so far much more reliable than my PC laptop which will now be sold on.

I own an iPod touch 4th generation and and iPad 2 and I used to own an iPhone 3gs but am hoping at some point to buy an iPhone 4S when I can afford it.

I am very new to the world of Mac and I hope that you will be willing to help me out if I have any issues or queries about it.

Many thanks

Julie
