Okay so we all know about the new OS X Lion update that came out and my girlfriend happened to be one of those new Macbook buyers. The day we went to buy her Macbook Pro, I already knew about the free update for those who purchase it after June 6 so I asked one of the Apple Representatives there and asked how to install the Lion software for free when it comes out. I told the representative that my girlfriend just purchased it so she will be eligible for the free upgrade. He told me all she has to do is go into the App Store when Lion comes out and click the install button because it will somehow automatically know that her computer is eligible. Well, knowing that he works for Apple and assuming what he is telling us is correct we trusted his word.
So a few minutes ago my girlfriend did what the worker told us to do and she went on the App Store. We were on iChat and I told her to check if it says "FREE" which I guess she ignored. haha... She told me over iChat that it said $29.99 and she clicked the "Buy" button either way because she thought it would've somehow recognized. This install was basically a fail and her money was taken out of her iTunes card and her debit card. Is there any way to get a refund or something? |

The title of this thread doesn't appear to have anything to do with your question. But to answer the question… call Apple. And for reference, here's what should have been done:
Apple - OS X Lion and Lion Server - Up to Date Program Standing request for all troubleshooting: Please provide your Mac model/year and OS version. Also advise us if you have used or installed any antivirus, security, or "cleaning" software on your Mac. If you have installed MacKeeper in particular, you are hereby advised to uninstall it. --------- If all else fails to fix your problem, read this tip. |
