Unless I'm missing something, the article you cite states that Google is detecting traffic from clients that are using a specific proxies that are known to be used by a particular trojan for Windows PCs.

I don't see how this is a bad thing, or how it impacts Mac users at all.

Yea, I saw that it's reporting as attacking PCs, but I was wondering if it was prudent to change search engines just in case Macs could also be infected but hadn't been reported yet.

It's not "attacking" anything. I think you misunderstood the article. Google is basically alerting Windows PC owners who are already infected with a particular piece of malware that they are indeed infected. This is a public service effort on Google's part, not an attempt to infect them, but rather a response to a well-known infection that some users may not otherwise be aware of.

Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
