Wal-Mart plans music download service November 6, 2003 - 11:04 EST Wal-Mart plans to launch an iTunes-like pay-per-song download service by the end of the year, according to Bloomberg. The company plans to make the download service part of its Web site and charge customers 99 cents to download songs. Wal-Mart is the world's largest retailer and the top seller of compact discs, controlling 14 percent of worldwide music sales. My Comments: Now this might be what screws Apple.. the rest of them doesnt even compare, but my guess is that Wal-Mart will eventually sell for less than 99 cents.. maybe not though since Im sure the record companies made deals with Apple and everyone else that they would make it a requirement of 99 cents per download so that they do not have to rewrite contracts with companies they already made a deal with.
