Anybody use a stored value debit card for online purchases? I would like to get rid of my final remaining credit card that has no use any more, but there is no way that I will use my working debit card connected to my bank account online.

With one of these stored cards, I could just load the proper amount of money when I needed to order online, and only have to worry about that transaction, not some set of hackers sucking my bank account dry and then fighting the bank for months to get it back. That has happened to a couple of aquaintenances.

But, googling shows me that some people love it, but some people say that the card won't go through some online payment processors.

Anybody have any experience here?

Pre-filled and stored cards may not pass through the payment process. You might be better off using PayPal with a limited bank account. Just keep enough in the account to use for purchasing items plus a bit over. Don't use PayPal with a credit card if that's all you have.

Make sure though that your bank does not require a minimum amount to be in the account before charging monthly fees. Free accounts are getting harder and harder to find nowadays with the economy the way it is.
