Well I cant let that happen.

Here I left this one open so that you can see exactly where the differences are. Maybe someone can help shine some light on this.

On a side note, we can probably go back and forth with this for the rest of our lives.... getting different results. As far as I can tell, our machines perform exactly the same, given they feel like it. LOL

Son of a...!!

Have you geekbenched your machine? Would love to see your scores there - since as Lifesabeach noted - Xbench is a little dated.

Are you able to run it without paying for it? I am not sure I wanna spend money on something like this. Personally it has very little consequence to me.

To all you guys who posted scores after i left for work, i have lost the ability to edit the first post, so unless a kind moderator/administrator fills in for me, i cant add you to the board.

I was unaware of Xbench's lack of updates. Good idea starting a new one for Geekbench Brian. when i started the thread i was worried about the lack of 64 bit for us 4+ users, but it should be a good test none the less.
It also lets people see how their Windows machines stack up against their Macs too!

I did originally just intend the thread to be a bit of fun, but for more accurate scoring/rating, i advise everyone to move to Brian's newly created thread.

If you find a post helpful, don't forget to use the reputation system (top right of post.)

krzykat, could you post detailed mac specs? your score is really good.
I have the 21.5 inch screen i3 3.06 iMac with the 4 GB RAM. It's the low end basic of the mid 2010 models.

You're fixing to see why I haven't been all that interested in puttin' out the cash to upgrade my '06 model until these new Sandy Bridge chips. It's taken 4 years to get better than a 10-15% increase even in test scores and less than that in most real usage tasks.

(Someone asked in another thread today why you spend money on the best processsor first instead of RAM - this is why.)

Look at those Disk test scores - still something to be said for the WD 320 & 500.
Am amazed at that Samsung Spinpoint score though.

That first gen MacPro is still pretty much keeping up harry.

But mine is not the new iMac. I bought mine 3 weeks before the refresh.
