refurb vs new though

Wish I could, but I just cannot bring myself to buy a computer with anything under a 2Ghz CPU.
Don't care what the benchmarks say.

I'll give you that, but as many of us have found out that does not make a difference. Same initial warranty, eligible for the same AppleCare extended warranty. The only thing missing is the pretty box.

The more money in your pocket the better.

Sorry, that price difference does not justify getting a refurb over a new one. If you are really that worried about 30 saving 30 dollars on a refurb, as opposed to a brand new one, with the same warranty, you probably shouldn't be looking at this stuff.

Yep, me too.

Save 15% or more on a refurb vs new with same warranty, ok I'll go for that.

Saving <5%... give me the one with the perrty box that nobody else has had their grubby hands on.

Not really worried about $30 as I am sure you can figure out by looking at my signature. I was stating fact that the same darn machine is $30 cheaper at Apple.

Folks are paying good money for those "perrty box's" too. I've seen Mac Pro boxes selling on e-Bay for $30-$40 + $10-$20 shipping.

The MacBook Air deal from MacMall on e-Bay isn't bad (especially with the 64gig solid state drive). But personally...if I was going to spend around $850 on an Apple laptop computer...I would buy this:

Refurbished MacBook 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - Apple Store (U.S.)

MacBook:

- 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo cpu
- 2 gig ram
- 250 gig HD
- NVIDIA 320m graphics
- CD/DVD drive

I saw this at ebay's homepage; if I didn't get an upgraded blackbook a month or so back, I would have definitely jumped on this the second I saw it. I initially looked at getting an 11 inch, MBA first but being a college student with no job, just din't have the funds. Meh, I'm content
