    The team managed to teleport wave packets of light by destroying them in one place and re-creating them in another.

    It's an incredible process that means transmitting large volumes of complex quantum information could be quicker than is currently possible.

    I don't have a reference for you but I believe this to be a repeat of an experiment already accomplished here in the US last year. I remember talking about it at work - along with some of the potential implications on modern communications. It's definitely mind bending - but so is the book they reference - a good read for anyone with a passing interest in quantum mechanics.

    I agree with the above. Teleporting photons (particles of light) has been done before. The catch is can we organise the light into patterns like morse code or something so we can actually teleport information across distances.
