I deliberately avoided anything Apple related because I'm an inverted snob. I eventually chose the one I did because nobody else appeared to have it and I couldn't be bothered to search through all the options when my most pressing concern was to ask - what I considered to be at the time - an earth shattering question.

Something to do with text between scenes in iMovie11 if I remember correctly.

The answer (Titles) - as simplistic as it seems - was the final piece of information I needed in order to go out and purchase my first Mac.

My avatar is an icon I made of an AKAI MPC2000XL MIDI Production Center with my name on it.

Other forums I am a member of are all music related. I wanted to show my love for music and music hardware here on Mac-Forums.
And yes that is a floppy drive in the bottom left corner.

It's a scanned photo of my paternal grandparents. Until I happen upon another one that defines my personality, I'll likely keep that one.

Albert Camus. Those who know me have probably said, at some point, "only van would choose a philosopher as an avatar."

Doesn't everybody qualify as a "philosopher" after a few "brewski's"!!!

That means you could use a photo of me as an avatar!!! Ha ha ha!

Good point. The flow of alcohol does tend to bring out the philosopher in people.

Maybe Camus does qualify as a philosopher...but I always think of him as a writer.

Either way...being a philosopher or a writer...it's tough to make a buck $$$! Maybe that's what leads to heavy drinking! See...now I'm a philosopher...and I haven't even been drinking yet!

I have a feeling that "resident philosopher" doesn't pay very well!

Speaking of drinking and philosophers, one of my favorite jokes (which probably speaks loads about me) involves Rene Descartes and friends out for a few beers.

Having just finished a round, one of his buddies turned to him and asked,

"Another one, Rene?"

"Oh . . . I think not," the famous philosopher replied, and disappeared.

Of course, I know everything . . . I just can't remember it all at once.

I'll have to take a look later. However, nothing beats philosopher soccer when it comes to MP's take on philosophy (although I'm open to challenges).

Rules for walking around a university campus:

Don't LOOK at anything in a physics lab.
Don't TASTE anything in a chemistry lab.
Don't SMELL anything in a biology lab.
Don't TOUCH anything in a medical lab.
and, most importantly,
Don't LISTEN to anything in a philosophy department.
