Steve Ballmer: "These guys just don't get it? Why would you want to run a touch OS when you could run FULL BLOWN WINDOWS?! Fools! We'll feed it to them again! They'll get it, this time!"

Another thing:
Quote:
Microsoft similarly downplayed the importance of available third party software when launching Windows Phone 7, claiming that smartphone users don't want to be distracted with lots of functionality in their mobile phone. Claiming the same thing about tablet computers will be harder to do, but the new devices' backward compatibility with conventional Windows apps will make this less necessary.
So Ballmer wants to clone the ipad. But leave out the most important thing. The rich ecosystem of apps that people love using on their ipads. It seems Ballmer is trying to make a tablet sized version of the first iphone. Sure back in the day people accepted that. But today people expect many apps to choose from to use on their device.

This MS based tablet could have come nice hardware. But without the other things it just will not sell.

I was actually one of the ones who dug these. My dad had one for a brief spell at work and I enjoyed it, and it's fun for casually using photoshop.

That being said, I'm in the minority, and it's proven that this product won't sell. Benjamin Franklin once said of insanity: "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."

NINJA EDIT FTW!

"That's Peter Graves scat! I'd know it anywhere!"
