I have seen some pretty cool ones, on the web,my question is how are these made? I would love to give it a shot. Does anyone on here have any suggestions for me?

I use to make them with simple programming like Basic, then just do massive draws that repeat with +1 or +10 or something on every turn... got some pretty cool looking images.

Have a look at this fairly simple FreeWare option.
Mandelbrot on Cocoa.

I clicked that link and it started downloading, I don't like that I would like to read about it first. anyothers on here know this freeware?
