2tb time capsule?

hey I am interested in buying the 2tb time capsule but I wanted to know if I can use 1tb for time machine and the other 1tb for random storage?

Also, unlike other backup applications that require their own partition, Time Machine does not. You can keep your TM backups and other data on the same partition.
