Online Student Discounts

Hi. As you may have noticed by some of my other threads, I'm going to be buying an iBook soon. My question is, when I use my student discount, do I have to send them my student ID card in the mail or something, and they later send it back? Or some other form of ID because if that's the case it's going to be a pain.

When i bought my iBook from apple uk website they didnt' ask for any student id.
They did however require it to claim the mail in rebate they were offering at that time. A quick photocopy and it was all sorted.

So get in there and save some cash

when i purchased my mac mini, all they asked for what college i attended and that was they end of it. i didnt have ot type in my student id number or anything.

My mother ordered my 2 mac for me, because they were both presents. Anyways, Apple asked her what college I went to and that was the end of that. They didn't really make us jump through hoops.

I said, "no, not yet."
They said, "driver's licence."
I said, "here."
That's how it happened with me. Baddabing-Baddaboom...

...though I guess that really doesn't answer your question.

At the online Canadian Apple store, there's a pull down menu to choose the university you attend. Then you have to enter your Student ID to enter the Education Store. It's probably a bad idea to mail your ID - who knows when you'll get it back?
