Apple Advertising

I found a site with tons of old ads that Apple used on tv. They seem to be effective ways to market their products, but of course I don't know how effective it actually was during those years. Does anyone else think that Apple should start advertising their computers again in commercials? I mean, we see all the different iPod commercials, and those are cool, but what about the computers? They used to have so many commercials for the Power Macs, Performas, Newton, PowerBook, Quadra, reasons why Macs are better than PCs, etc. Why did Apple stop? I really think Apple should go back to commercials of their computers, not just the iPods.

Any thoughts?

i remeber the first time i ever noticed an apple computer was the G5 powermac ad were the boy gets blown through about 10 walls of his house and smacks up against a tree and the camera slowly moves through each hole and gets to the source of the explosion what made the boy fly out and a moody voice come on and says
"The new PowerMac G5, the worlds Fastest, Most powerfulest personal computer"
and i thought wohh i gotta get me one of those.

that ad was on quite a bit then all i have seen since is about 10 million ipod ad's.

They should advertise the Mac's more on TV and save some souls

I saw an ad that talked about data-digital-audio convergence and thought Finally! Apple is really showing what it can do. Wrong, it was an Intel ad. Of course everything it showed was done by Apple first. Apple's advertising strategy is a mystery.
