    kernel panic?
I wasnt sure where to post this, so its here, if some mod could place it where it goes. I was using dvd studio pro 3, doing some video editing, and I was taking a file from my external hard drive and using it in DVDSP3, I got the beachball, then the external hd started clicking and making noise like it was going nuts, I force quit out of DVDSP3, and closed all other open apps, then after a minute or so, the hd stopped clicking, then I had a kernel panic! Ive only had like 1 kernel panic ever before, back in jaguar, whats wrong? Im about to repair permissions a few times, run cron scripts, etc.

Clicking noises in your hard drive is a very very bad thing.....usually means the hard drive is about to die on you. I would back up all your things onto the external hard drive and don't be surprised if in the next few days/weeks the computer will not boot
Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System

Then can't you just back the stuff up on the external harddrive onto the HD in your computer?
