As many think of poetry of another way of speaking, others think of it as a way to impress the ladies
I think of it as a way to express yourself from the soul. So go ahead and post you poems!I'll go first. WHISPER I hear your name, Can you hear mine? Being whispered along the skies? Can you hear me whisper I love you, When you don't even know I'm around? Whisper Give a man a fire, he's warm for a day Set a man on fire, and he's warm for life |

Ok my turn. Here's one I wrote last year.
******************* Softly as the breeze blows by I sit and wonder why The birds chirp so merrily With their sweet song How lucky they are With wings so bright So sleek and full of life Able to escape any situation just by flying And leave all their troubles down below They laugh at us mortals stuck to the ground With so many issues and very few answers They see the big picture all around us The hope in the distance obscured by the trees And as they move on, fueled by the ocean breeze Their past is forgotten, as new territory awaits They leave us mortals behind to cry in our place To visit the world and all it's splendour And one day they return, to visit this place To see how the mortals have have ruined their lives Deprived of happiness through our own doing A self provoked curse, is the fate we all share Nothing has changed over the years They often return to laugh at our sorrow And I always look up at the clouds in the sky And envy the birds laughing at me. |

I personally prefer prose... because I'm not so good at poetry! So here we go. This is one of my favourites.
As I dwell in this suspended animation, (ecstatic) I reflect on the bygones of my time. As I meditate on the horrors (torment) and agonies (torture) of my time on earth, It registers why I feel content in my inability to perceive life any longer. If I developed as a normal child (desire) With normal functions, (yearn) Normal requirements, (dream) A normal life, (wish) Maybe I wouldn't feel this way (rapturous). Undoubtedly, this has not come a moment too soon. Sick (mentally) to death (physically) of being cared for. No more will I awake (ever) To find myself with sharp tubes driven down my gullet (finally). As I savour my last few hours of life, (saccharine) Last few hours of freedom, (infinite) Last few hours of blissful solitude, (climax) I think to myself: This is a sublime euphoria. And if that doesn't make any sense, I wrote something to go with it to say what it's about... This is about an elderly, physically and mentally disabled man who is sick of needing help from everyone and welcomes death with open arms. He is sick of being a burden on people because of his special needs, and hates that their necessary presence is a constant reminder of his incompetence. He is savouring the last few moments of his life where he isn't aware of anybody else, it is just him - something he's been waiting for all his life. Behance Design/Photography Porfolio |

Here's one:
The road Hate powered by greed, Jealousy fueled by need. Want caused by lack, Sorrow coming back. Darkness while there's light, Daytime during night. Shadows linger in the shade, Old hope begins to fade. Color in black and white, Hurting just to spite. Deafened by the silence, Numbed by the violence. I lust for something more, I trust in whats in store. Reviving my heart causes pain, Surviving for more of the same. My shattered bones begin to mend, I'm broken but I refuse to bend. You can take what you want from me, But regardless I'll always be free. I chose my path years ago, Though where it leads I don't know. I see the signs of those who traveled here before, I trace their footsteps on this dusty floor. I see the bodies of those who traveled here and fell, I know I won't end up like that as well. I held the key from the very start, I walked with love to guide my heart. I have more if you liked that one |
