Acer makes junk... plain and simple. Although this one was pretty easy to disassemble (it's a walk in the park compared to a plastic MacBook), There's precious little in the way of bracing or structural elements - everything is plastic. You can just tell, it was built to be disposable.

The sad thing is, this seems to be the trend in the industry (but Acer is probably the worst offender). I wonder what Windows laptops would cost if they were built to the same standards and using the same materials as Apple (not that I want them to be as difficult to take apart).

</RANT>
Agreed. Most of the Acer's I have messed with are very cheap with many corners cut both in Build Quality and design. I dread working with most of them. With Notebooks (besides apple) I love working on Thinkpads and some Dells. There are even some HP's out there that outclass anything Acer makes!

Wow, I am incredibly out of shape. I attempted to go on a short ~4 mile bike ride. More than half of the route I was going on was truck trail, so easy, smooth riding. But it started with a decent uphill part before it hit the truck trail, maybe 1/2-3/4 mile. I never made it to the truck trails.

Guess I need to look for really easy stuff to build up my muscles and cardio.

Not sure how often you workout...but I workout everyday (running)...and regardless of how good or how bad a person's fitness is...it doesn't take long for any sort of physical fitness to "wear-off"!

If I stop working out for just 1-2 days...on day 3...I can already feel the fitness decrease.

Hahahahahahaha, that's funny.

Never. My exercise is backpacking and hiking in the summer, and the occasional snowshoe hike in the winter. That's about it.

I hate to make any assumptions...especially since you spent some $$$ on that new bike! You might have been a hardcore cyclist...getting some new wheels!

Not yet I'm not. I'd like to get into a somewhat riding schedule. Where I went today, there are 130 miles of horse/bike/hiking trails, intertwined with truck trails so you can get to different areas. I grew up down the road from it, so I've spent plenty of time there hiking, and the occasional bike ride. I think I'll just stick mainly to the truck trails until I get a little more in shape.

WOW...that sounds pretty awesome!!! Certainly no reason to "fight" with cars on the "regular" roads if you don't have to!

Well, decided to push myself today and took the long way to work and just rode 2.2 miles. Wasn't too bad, legs are definitely sore though.

Great...that means you got a good workout! Don't let that soreness discourage you from continuing the rides!

Oh I don't. I spent enough money on the new bike. I'm going to make sure it gets used well and hard.

Sounds great!

- Nick

p.s. Of course don't forget...many folks spend thousands on a new treadmill, all-in-one gyms, stationary bikes...and a couple months later what do they turn into?...clothing racks!

Count me in for the beer but not for the second part. I don't agree to things if it's not offered in English.
